Sharon Goodwin is the Chief of Services of Gaffney Chicago Medical Center. She is very passionate about her job and has no desire to retire.
Biography
Sharon will do anything to protect the people working under her watch. Often facing the Medical Board and the Legal Department. She is a former Nurse in charge of the ED, the role currently played by Maggie. This causes her to make some decisions more like a nurse rather than an objective chief/administrative. Sharon has diabetes.
She celebrates her 32nd year anniversary with her then husband, Bert, during episode 1x11. After all those years of marriage Bert leaves her in the season 1 finale.

Sharon defends Connor as a doctor to his father and the two end up exchanging heavy words. Later on the Chairman of the Hospital stops by and has a meeting with her. Rhodes called him and complained about the earlier exchange of words. It's revealed that the one donating money to the Hospital is actually Cornelius' mother and not him. She defends her rights to decide who preforms surgeries. It shouldn't be an external decision, thus steps her foot down. The surgery ends up being a success, so Cornelius leaves the Hospital having no more arguments.
