Rush University Medical Center is the inspiration behind Gaffney Chicago Medical Center. It is the filming location of most of the exterior scenes and many interior scenes of Chicago Med.[1]
Most interior scenes not filmed at Rush are filmed on the Cinespace lot on the Near West Side. Exterior scenes away from the hospital are filmed around the city itself. Unlike its sister shows, Chicago Med plays out mostly inside.
