Background[]

Pamela has a daughter named Avery. During If You Love Someone, Set Them Free, Pamela reveals to Crockett Marcel that she used a surrogate to have her daughter.

Biography[]

Pamela took Crockett under her wing as her apprentice in the transplant department. The two eventually developed a romantic relationship.

Pamela developed a tremor in one of her hands which started to interfere with her ability to perform surgery. She decided to let Sam Abrams operate on her, and gave Crockett power of attorney to make medical decisions for her while she was incapacitated. When Crockett has to decide between restoring function in her hand and saving her life when she goes into cardiac arrest during surgery, he decides to save her life, causing Pamela to lose function in her hand for an extended period of time. Pamela resents him for making this decision, going so far as to imply that he did it to sideline her and steal her spotlight.

At the beginning of Season 8, she decides to resign to focus on her recuperation, and it is revealed in The Apple Doesn't Fall Far From The Teacher that she has left Gaffney to take a new position at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston.
