Daniel Charles is seen visiting her in her nursing home. It is alluded to earlier in the episode that they became estranged when Daniel's parents refused to accept his marriage to CeCe, an African American woman, and that they had not seen each other for at least 35 years. When Daniel shows her the picture of Robin and tells her that she is her granddaughter, Mrs. Charles becomes overwhelmed with emotion and remarks that Robin is beautiful, while Daniel replies that he would very much like for them to meet.
