Dr. John Frost is a Resident in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Gaffney Chicago Medical Center. He is portrayed by Darren Barnet.
Background[]
John formerly worked at Jackson Monroe Hospital and transferred to Med to finish off his residency due to the former's closure. Before entering the medical field, he starred in a children's television show named "Nick of Time".
John's parents severely mismanaged his former TV star career and stole all the money he made, leading him to resent them.
Season 10[]
John continues his residency at Med, where he quickly proves to be a strong advocate for his minor patients. In one case, he bypasses a minor patient's parents to communicate directly with the child about the possible consequences of a risky surgery, believing it is his duty as a pediatrician. This action results in a physical confrontation with the child's father, and a discussion with his supervisor Dean Archer. When John was 17, he was groomed by his co-worker and maternal figure into having a sexual relationship.
Notes and Trivia[]
- After his co-workers found out about his past career as a TV star, some started affectionately calling him "Hollywood".
- The only time he ever cheated on a girlfriend was when he was 16. The girl was a famous pop star and wrote a song about it[1].
- Mitch Ripley initially believed Dr. John Frost was the only resident who was not "drowning" in med school debt due to his past career as a TV star. Dr. John Frost later reveals to him that his parents stole his earnings, effectively leaving him with no money for med school.
- It is heavily implied he was sexually abused/groomed by Ainsley Towne during his acting career as a Teenager. [2]
- He doesn't like Avocados.
