Background[]
Hannah's mother died while giving birth to her due to undiagnosed aortic stenosis. She had refused to seek earlier treatment because she wanted to be the best mother to Hannah's older siblings, Elizabeth and Matt, by not taking time away from them to visit a doctor. Hannah still harbors some resentment for this decision that led her to never being able to know or remember her mother. Elizabeth stepped in as her maternal figure and the pair were close ever since.
Biography[]
Hannah was able to conceal her addiction to heroin from her colleagues until Will Halstead encountered her at a safe injection site where he was volunteering. Initially, this led to strain in their working relationship, with Will threatening to report her and being uncomfortable with her treating patients. Will came to care about Hannah and they eventually developed a romantic relationship, but Hannah continued to use deception and manipulation to conceal her addiction, until Will had her arrested and put into rehab by calling in an anonymous tip to the police, who found drugs in her car.
She struggled during rehab, being forced to quit cold-turkey without the use of methadone because of being a health care professional. After pulling through, she and Will resumed their relationship, but Will worried that Hannah was replacing an addiction to heroin with an addiction to love. At the beginning of Season 6, she was brought into the ED, again having suffered a relapse and an overdose. She decided to go into rehab again and to afterwards, leave Chicago.

Pain is for the Living[]
Hannah meets Will at an offset med center and treated her addiction to drugs. He was later shocked to discover Hannah is a doctor and was skeptical of her methods.

Hannah and Will come to blows, when they threaten to expose each others unethical deeds.
However, they soon come to an understanding later when Will promised to help her with her condition. Touched by his consideration and moved by her attraction to him, Hannah invited him to her apartment, and he accepts the offer.

In the span of six months, Will and Hannah became a couple and moved in with each other.
After an argument with Will, Hannah relapses and is brought into the ED by Will to be treated for a heroin overdose. Before she is brought into surgery, Will tells her that he loves her and hopes for her to come through. Hannah eventually wakes up and shares a moment with Will, apologizing for letting him down. She is touched by him voicing relief at her pulling through. She also reveals that she could hear him when she was brought in, thanking him for telling her that he loves her, but that she has decided to go into rehab. Afterwards, Hannah decides to leave Chicago, because she thinks she will never be able to rise above the stigma of being a drug addict. She asked for Will to come with her but he refuses, and she tries to tell him not to decide right away though he again denies and she states she was afraid that he most likely would not go, something that he confirms. Although she worries over a relapse without him, Will tells Hannah that he does not want to be the anchor to her sobriety but does wish her luck in her endeavors.

May Your Choices Reflect Hope, Not Fear[]
Hannah returns after her stint in rehab, where she has been sober for almost two years. She meets Sharon Goodwin and Dean Archer for dinner, it is revealed she kept in contact with Goodwin while in rehab and the latter wanted her to know she still had friends. When Archer inquired on her decision to return to Med because of her history, Hannah stated that she was clean and is focused on staying that way. She also wants to return for a fresh start at what she knows best. Impressed, Goodwin welcomes her back.

How Do You Begin to Count the Losses []
Hannah comes out of the burning building alive with an oxygen mask on her face and is led to Ambulance 61 by a firefighter. Will calls out to her, surprised to see that she is still in the building since he thought she had gotten out. She tells him she's fine and that she went back in looking for him while Sylvie checked her lungs, which she says are clear. At Med, Will tells her to take a few hours to rest. She insisted that she was fine and asked Crockett if she could get dressed to which he replies I don't see why not since everything looked clear.
Later, Hannah had trouble catching her breath and Will noticed and ran to her, concerned. Choi and Will led her to a bed. Choi requested that they intubate, which Hannah immediately rejects. They sent her for a Chest CT, which revealed that she had Interstitial disease, but they didn't know what was causing it. Choi recommended a bronchoscopy and taking a biopsy of her lungs to figure it out, but before they could do anything, she went into respiratory distress and they had to Intubate. After, Choi says they should have intubated her downstairs. Later, the biopsy revealed talc crystals embedded in Peri-arterial granulomas, presumably from when she had her Heroin addiction and that she had these for years, but that the smoke from the fire triggered the interstitial disease and caused the inflammation of the granulomas.
When we see Hannah again she is extubated and talking, but still on oxygen. She calls her previous addiction the gift that keeps giving and Will tells her that they are going to set her up with a pulmonologist and that they will get her lungs cleaned up. She says that she just can't seem to shake the past.
Caught Between the Wrecking Ball and the Butterfly[]
Will and Hannah argue about what to do about the apartment building. They're interrupted by a family coming in from a car crash. Will and Asher talk to Charles about Jenna. Charles wants to wait for the tox screen but he will talk to Henry while he is waiting. Charles doesn't think the mom has had a psychotic break. The tox screen is clear; however, he will talk to the mother. Will and Asher are impatient to get around the mom. Asher tells Will that the spsurgery might have cured Jenny.
The Apple Doesn't Fall Far From The Teacher[]
Asher sees a pregnant woman who has sharp pains in her back, and her OBGYN told her to come to the ED. The woman feels the baby kicking. She says she has had three miscarriages and is on edge. Archer tells her to take her drug test, which annoys her. She wants a CT scan, but there's still a shortage of dye. She wants her to do an ultrasound, even though she thinks it's a waste of time. Meanwhile, Candice may have a kidney infection. Hannah is annoyed that Archer assumed an infection. He thinks she's overthinking. She takes it personally. He says there are a lot of shortages, and she cannot send patients for CTs until it's proven it's needed. She gets called in because Candice is vomiting. She has a fever. Hannah finally relents about the CT.
She discovered Candice has appendicitis. She wants to be in on the surgery in case anything goes wrong with the pregnancy. Archer tells her the patient was lucky to have a good doctor. She doesn't need to take drug tests anymore.

Asher meets a couple who are 9 weeks pregnant and have spotting. Steve says they are nervous because it was hard to get pregnant. They do an ultrasound. She sees something. She says it's an ectopic pregnancy. Caitlin realizes that it isn't viable. Hannah explains that she has two options: a drug or an operation. They will do additional labs and then go from there. Hannah's patient can't have the drugs because her liver function is elevated. She promises a minimally invasive procedure since she has no sick days left. The wires for laparoscopic equipment are non-existent. Hannah suggests she try it without video. He says he was trained to do it this way. Asher says this doesn't do her any good. Steve calls Hannah back in. Caitlin has a ruptured fallopian tube. Dean suggests they can operate laparoscopically a different way.
Hannah's annoyed that he didn't consult her. Dean tells her that this was the patient's wish, and they'll make a good team. They both work on Caitlin. Dean tells her to step in, as he's in too much pain. She's annoyed, as he's the only one who knows how to do this surgery. He tries to direct her to do the surgery without the monitor. He tells her that he'll guide her. She does it. Later on, Hannah says Caitlin had to have her tube removed but she can have children in the future.

Ethan notices that Will and Hannah are getting along. Will claims that they're just friends. Hannah feels like a bank teller in the clothes she got from the hospital thrift shop. All of a sudden, some guy screams for help. A woman is having a baby in the back of the car. Fortunately, Hannah and Will are right there to help. Maya is in labor. Her neighbor is told they are about to tow his van. He runs off to take care of it. She has no one to call. She's here, going to school. Hannah does an ultrasound and the baby is breech. They will need to do a C-section. Will and Asher show up in these stiff white suits. It's all that's left. They aren't happy with their clothes as they do a C-section. There's complications. The baby is finally born. Asher is having problems with the suit. Maya crashes all of a sudden. Hannah says somehow the patient is ODing. They need Narcan. They bring Maya back, and she asks what happened.
Maya says she has never done drugs in her life. Will this keep her from taking her baby home? Asher tells her to get some rest. A tech says Maya was telling the truth, but they'll run more tests. Will is itching because of the hazmat suit. Maggie tells Hannah that the guy who brought Maya in was trafficking drugs. Maybe they were all exposed. Asher runs in to talk to Will and finds him on the floor. She gives him Narcan and says they must decontaminate now. She checks on Will, who says he's okay. He thinks she should go first into the shower. She doesn't see what the big deal is. They shower next to each other and Asher helps Will scrub. She says they're back where they began, as they met when he gave her Narcan. The drugs were in Maya's socks. She can't believe Gus was dealing drugs. But the baby wasn't exposed and they are both healthy and safe. Will invites her to go get a burrito, but she thinks she needs to go to a meeting. Lieu teaches Hannah how to rock climb. She falls. His friend Omar keeps ringing a bell and is not clipped in. He falls when Lieu tries to help him and is seriously injured. She calls 911. At Med, Hannah's called to see a patient. A patient has been crying since she signed in and is shaking. She claims to be in a lot of pain from endometriosis. The pain is debilitating, even though she's a yoga teacher. Asher helps her up. The patient wants pain medications, and her symptoms are not consistent with endometriosis. Hannah approaches Dean. She says the AI has flagged her patient, Jodi, as an addict. She says that she doesn't get that vibe from her and wants Dean to override the AI. Jodi has a tumor—a rare lung cancer—that is causing all her symptoms. She seems out of it, and Hannah tells Dean she doesn't think this is informed consent. Hannah and Peter argue about the AI. Sharon says Hannah's problem is with this program and she agrees with her.
Dean's glad that Hannah stood up to the board. She said that she's red-flagged as well. It doesn't matter how long she's been sober.
On Days Like Today... Silver Linings Become Lifelines[]
Hannah's working out in the gym when she gets a call. She tells the caller to meet her in the ED. Hannah preserves her patient's confidentiality, saying they know each other from the gym. Liza's water has broken. She wants Hannah to be her doctor and doesn't like that another doctor is being called in. She wants Hannah. She asks Dean if she can work with Liza. He tells her to hurry up as he's short-staffed in the ED. Liza is in a lot of pain. The umbilical cord is squeezed. She may need a C-section, which she doesn't want. The medicine seems to be working. Hannah says that if the baby's heart rate drops, she is doing an emergency C-section. She now wants the C-section, but it's too late. She gives birth to a baby girl and gets to hold her. However, Liza can't deal with the baby crying.
Hannah goes to tell Liza she is going back to the ED and finds her in the bathroom, ODing on heroin. Dean wants Hannah to follow protocol and report this to DCFS. Hannah says she won't give up on Liza and isn't reporting her until she finds a way for Liza to stay with the baby while getting help. Dean gives her until the end of the day. The social worker runs into Hannah and asks to see Liza. Hannah says it was an error, and she doesn't need an evaluation. Hannah confronts Dean, interrupting his meeting. He swears he didn't make the call. Hannah finds out Liza called DCFS herself. Liza can't force herself to stay sober for her baby. The social worker has found a foster mother. They will reassess when Liza finishes treatment. Liza wants to name the baby after Hannah.

Hannah is roped in to treat patients from a mass casualty event and is devastated when she loses a patient named Ivy Vance who initially appeared fine. Together with Dean Archer she also treats a young girl named Kayla whose recently transplanted kidney has been damaged in the accident and will need to be replaced. She confronts and then comforts Dean when he doubts whether he is worthy of the transplant kidney he is about to receive from his son.
This Town ain't Big Enough for the Both of Us[]
Hannah supports Sean and Dean when Dean's ex-wife Leanne shows up to the hospital in a rush and threatens to get an injunction to stop the kidney transplant. She is able to convince Dean to take the kidney as planned and the transplant is a success.
What Happens in the Dark Always Comes to Light[]
While at a bar waiting on a first date with a man named Kyle who she met through a dating app, Hannah runs into Mitch Ripley. When two other patrons pass out from an overdose of cocaine laced with fentanyl, Hannah and Mitch resuscitate the patients using Narcan. Despite the incident, Hannah and Kyle consider their first date to be a success and make plans to see each other again after a brief kiss. The next day, an irate pregnant woman storms into the ED ,demanding to speak to Hannah. The woman turns out to be Kyle (whose real name is Nick)'s wife. When the two women realize they have both been played, the woman's water breaks due to the stress and Hannah ends up delivering her baby. When Nick shows up to the hospital, Hannah berates him for misleading her and cheating on his wife.
At the end of the episode, Mitch teases Hannah by saying that if she keeps using dating apps, she might miss opportunities that are right in front of her in real life.

Hannah gives her phone number to a hospital pharmacy technician named Wyatt who has been checking her out. She is shocked when the first message she receives from him is a full frontal nude photo. While laughing about it with Nellie Cuevas and Zola Ahmad, the three notice he has a lesion close to his penis. They trick him into entering a treatment room, where Hannah switches with Mitch Ripley who performs a physical exam on him.

Hannah treats a woman named Kaitlin Neeley who is brought in by helicopter from a rural area. The patient has become septic due to a miscarriage that doctors in her home town refused to treat properly for religious reasons. Hannah is able to save both the patient's life and her uterus so she can try to have another child in the future. Kaitlin and her husband decide they should move to a less bigoted area before trying to conceive again.
Step On A Crack and Break Your Mother's Back[]
The Chicago Med team is celebrating Sean's one year sobriety by playing shuffleboard at a local place. Hannah notices Dean looking at Margo, Sean's boss. At Med, she sees Mitch Ripley walk in. She teases him and calls him marathon man. She tells him that they missed him last night. He thanked her for the invite, but he had to get up early and get a run in. She asks him if he made it a burner. He tells her he tweaked his hamstring, so he only got three miles in. He tells her that he'll ice at lunch and get in another five tonight. She says that's hardcore and says she has a Type A routine like he does. She goes to meetings, he runs; they all have their things. She tells him that she's hitting the floor, asking him if he's coming.
He tells her to go ahead, as he's going to get showered. Dean asks Hannah, who's standing across from him at the nurse's station, if she wants him to pass a note to Ripley at recess. She rolled her eyes, denying that she had feelings for him, and bounced the question back to him, telling him that she saw him flirting with Margo last night. He tells her that she's imagining things. Doris tells her that they have incoming, noting that they're shorthanded today. She's introduced to Marisol Robles, who experienced syncope while unloading groceries. As Hannah's doing the workup, Marisol's husband asks if these are early signs of pregnancy. She tells him it's hard to say, but she'll include a pregnancy test in the full workup.
Hannah comes back into the room, informing Marisol that her white blood cell count is normal. There were no signs of infection. But Hannah informs her that her pregnancy test came back negative. Marisol joked that she always wanted to be a medical mystery. Hannah says that they still have more stones to turn. They do a chest x-ray. It's been revealed that Marisol has a foreign object lodged in her heart. Hannah tells her that it shouldn't be there. The CT confirmed a foreign object, a rod that's about four centimeters long and lodged in her pulmonary artery. It's unknown how it got there. Hannah asks her if she's had any surgeries. Marisol then reveals that three months ago, she had a birth control implant placed in her arm. When Hannah and Dean leave the room, she asks him why he punted Marisol's procedure to IR. Dean argues that she has too much scar tissue and if he opens her up, the complications skyrocket.
He tells her if she's so worried about it, she should scrub in and babysit. Hannah says she will and walks off. In the IR suite, Marisol starts bleeding into her chest. Hannah tells Marty to activate the massive transfusion protocol. She tells everyone that she'll be right back. She pushes the doors open and calls out to Dean, telling him that she needs him here, telling him that she perforated and that they have to open her up. The alarms were still blaring. Dean announces that he needs a satinsky clamp. Hannah asks what he's doing. He tells her that he's going to perform a formal lobectomy. Hannah asks why he's going to remove a whole lobe of her lung. He says it's either that or she bleeds to death. After a few minutes, the lobe comes out and the rod is still attached.
Hannah and Dean go into Marisol's room, holding up the rod in the container. She tells her that she's looking at several weeks of rest and rehab, saying once she's feeling up to it, she can decide if she wants to put another birth control implant in. Hannah explains that what she experienced was improper placement. As Hannah's driving, she pulls over, noticing Mitch walking down the sidewalk. She asks him what happened to his Type A routine. He explains that he decided to walk and let his leg rest. She says that he doesn't have to do that, insisting that she'll give him a lift. He says yeah? And she tells him to jump in. He thanks her for the ride. She then offers that if he wanted to go to her place, she has epic herbal tea. He says how could he refuse. She laughs and says he can't. She pulls away from the curb and starts driving again.

Hannah's walking in with Maggie, talking about Mitch. Hannah tells her offscreen that he only had one cup of tea and then he left. She explains that he had to get up early for work. Maggie asks if she's sure he understood her intentions. She says that she invited him to her apartment for tea and should she be any clearer. Maggie asks if she did her quote thing, which she always does with her fingers. Hannah tells her no. She reveals that she's been avoiding him for three days now. She claims that maybe Mitch isn't into her. Maggie tells her not to immediately jump to that conclusion. Hannah suggests that he's that type of person who doesn't want to cross boundaries with a co-worker. When they get in the ED, they stand there still talking. Maggie tells her to stop avoiding him. Hannah looks over at him, where he's got a coffee in his hands and talking with another doctor. She then claims that she forgot her whatchamacallit and my thingamajig.
Hannah is then is introduced to Becca, who is 37 weeks pregnant Becca's husband, Tyler, claims that their baby has to be born today. Becca tells Dean that her husband claims he's telepathic. As she's doing an ultrasound, Hannah tells Becca that the baby's in the correct position. She says that Becca's blood pressure is a bit elevated, but she wasn't too concerned. She says that she'll see what the labs tell her. Becca asks if the blood pressure could just be from stress. She tells her that it's possible. Tyler asks Hannah if the ultrasound is reading correctly. Hannah assures him that it is. Then he suggests that maybe it needs to be recalibrated. Hannah tells him that clinical engineering just serviced all of the ultrasound machines last week. She tells Dr. Charles that there's a patient that she needs him to speak with quickly. He tells her that he'll be right there.
When Mitch walks by her, she asks him if his hamstring is doing any better. He tells her that it's still a little tight, but it's okay. He thanked her for asking. Dean approaches the computer on the other side of her and asks her what that was about. She questions what he was referring to. He informs her that he's talking about her and Ripley and that he was picking up a little something there. Hannah tells him that there's nothing there. Dean, Charles, and Hannah are all talking about Tyler. It's revealed that their first child, Chloe, died from SIDS when she was eight months old. Hannah asks Charles if there's anything he could do. He informs them that he doesn't think Tyler will be responsive to any type of counseling right now. She breaks off and says that she'll go check Becca's blood pressure again and see if it has normalized. She walks back into the room later, telling Becca that she got her lab results back. She tells her that they all look good and there's no protein in her urine. She explains that her blood pressure has remained elevated.
She says that this may very well be anxiety-related, but she can't say for certain that it's preeclampsia. Hannah suggests, given how far along she is in her pregnancy, that she start her on magnesium and induce labor today so Becca doesn't get any sicker. She tells Becca that by the time she's ready to deliver, a delivery room should be available. Hannah says that a nurse will be in shortly to give her oxytocin. Later, Hannah comes back into the room and says she heard that Becca's water broke. She sees that the baby's in repetitive decels in the 90's. Hannah checks to see how far Becca's progress has come. She says that she'll feel a bit of pressure. She looks back at Nancy, telling her that she feels cord. Nancy announces in the hallway that they've got cord prolapse. Hannah tells Becca that the baby's umbilical cord slipped past the head and is being squeezed between his body and her cervix.
She tells her that she has to deliver him immediately via C-section. She turns to see Mitch had walked into the room. He asked her what she needed him to do. She asks if he's dealt with a prolapse before. He tells her no. Hannah tells him to glove up and do exactly as she says. She says they'll have to swap places. She needs to remove her hand to operate. She tells him to slide his hand in next to hers. When he was there, he asked what he does now. She tells him not to move until she tells him to. As they were wheeling Becca to the OR, Tyler told Becca that he'd be there with her. Hannah tells him that he can't come to the OR and that she'll let him know when their baby has been delivered. In the OR, she reminds Mitch not to remove his hand until he feels hers. He says that he understands. When Mitch felt her hand, she told him to let go. Seconds later, Hannah announces that the baby's out. She says that his color looks good and that they dodged a bullet. She tells Mitch to take him to the warmer.
She goes to tell Tyler that everything went great, explaining that their son's apgar score was high and telling him that Becca did amazing. She says that she would take him to Becca, so he could come and meet his son. Hannah was making tea in the on-call room when Mitch finds her. He explains that he'd been looking everywhere for her. She laughs and tells him that he found her. Mitch goes on to say that it was an unbelievable rush and that he's never had a feeling like that before. He thinks he got into the wrong specialty. He describes how she took control of the situation, the command, and her confidence—the two of them working together. Hannah brings up the other night as she was mixing her tea. She says that she was thinking that maybe they were something. When she turns around, she finds Mitch close to her. He touches her side, asking if this is okay and that he's not good at reading minds. She laughs and says that he's much better than he thinks he is. When they edge closer, but jump apart immediately when Doris walks just outside the door, talking with another nurse about the frozen criminal who came alive again in the middle of the hallway.
Mitch motions that he's just going to leave. She's laughing softly as he walks out of the on-call room. At the end of the episode, both of them walk out together. Maggie stops them and asks if they're heading out and doing anything interesting. Hannah tells her that she doesn't know. Mitch then recommends that they should maybe go get some tea. She says that tea sounds good. Then the process server comes in and serves Mitch with papers. Hannah asks him what's going on as he's opening the manila envelope. It's been revealed that he's being sued for malpractice by Pawel.

Hannah runs into Mitch, who apologizes for missing their tea again. She tells him that he has to stop apologizing. She asks him what's going on with the lawsuit and he tells her that he's going to settle, she says he looks thrilled and he admits that he's never been the one to walk away from a fight. He then asks for a rain check for their "tea" and she whispers in his ear that they could make that happen and walking away.
Then, Sam Abrams wife, Michelle comes in with their son Mason, who fell and wouldn't stop crying. After an X-ray on Mason, it's revealed that he has a Greenstick fracture of the left humerus. Dean, who had ordered the test, explains to Hannah that these types of injuries in babies come from blunt-force trauma and he suggests that they loop in Goodwin. In Goodwin's office, she informs them that they contact DCFS in these types of situations, because it's the hospital law and policy. She argues that there's no way that this is child abuse, that there's a chance that Abrams could lose his son.
Back in their room, Hannah tells them that this is protocol in notifying DCFS. Abrams and his wife start to leave with their son, but Dean blocks the way. Later, she checks in with Michelle, who admits that she lied and that it's all her fault, admitting she was doing work in bed on her laptop this morning and Mason had woke up early from his nap and she'd laid him on her chest and her eyes had closed, then seconds later, she'd heard Mason on the floor crying on the hardwood floor, with her laptop on top of him. Hannah calms her down, telling her that it was an accident.
Then, she tells Dean that if Michelle could've told the truth from the beginning, they could've avoided DCFS, saying that lies always catch up to you.

Dean tells her that Mitch has called in sick and suggests that she should bring him chicken noodle soup. At the end, she asks Doris if Mariano's around the corner has good chicken noodle soup, who says that it's worth it.
I Think There's Something You're Not Telling Me[]
Hannah's showing Mitch pictures of her as a baby when she asks him if there were any of him and he tells her that they got lost in the "Great Chicago Fire of 1871" when Doris interrupts them. She's then introduced to Lynne, who's pregnant and has been having cramping the last few weeks and her OB's out of town for the next few weeks. As she looks at her cervix and cerclage, Hannah says that she might be experiencing a UTI, wanting to order labs to confirm. When her and Mitch leave the room, she tells him it was fun to meet friends from his past. He then gets awkward before leaving. She tells Lynne that her suspicion about her having a UTI was right, wanting to start her on antibiotics. The two women then start talking about Mitch, and Lynne tells her Mitch and Sully had a rough time growing up, saying that Mitch had overcome a lot.
Then, Sully comes into the hallway, telling Hannah and Mitch that Lynne's water broke. Hannah checks her again, seeing a lot of excess fluid and tells Mitch to hand her a Nitrazine swab, which reveals that her water had broke. Lynne says that it's too early and Hannah tells her that she's going to do an ultrasound just to be sure. The ultrasound reveals normal levels, which was surprising to see. Lynne asks about the fluid and she says that it could be from her cerclage, wanting to run another swab, Amnisure. Hannah asks Mitch what happened to Sully, who'd started coughing and he shows her the tablet, which reveals the significant lesion on his lungs.
It's revealed that Lynne doesn't know about the lesion. She asks Mitch why he hasn't had an honest conversation with him and he says there's nothing else he could do because Sully's his patient. She goes back to Lynne's room, who asks about Sully and Hannah says Mitch's taking care of him, wanting to talk about her next steps. It's revealed that the amni-swab comes back negative, and she wants to do a more conclusive test to confirm. Hannah tells Mitch towards the end of the episode that Lynne's water didn't break and she's fine.
Get By With A Little Help From My Friends[]
When Hannah starts her exam on Lynne, who's water broke, Mitch moves to leave the room but Lynne tells him to stay. Lynne's water hasn't broken yet so Hannah tells her that she'll give her steroids and magnesium. Lynne tries to refuse treatment, arguing that she has to take care of Sully.
Lynne is screaming and in pain. She's now in labor. Hannah says that they can't stop labor and if they don't deliver now her uterus could rupture. Sully shows up and yells about not being informed. Mitch tells him to sit down, shut up, and hold Lynne's hand. There's a lot of blood making it hard for Hannah to see to remove the stitch. Lynne then gives birth in the hybrid OR. The baby doesn't come out breathing so Hannah hands him off to Mitch, who gets the baby breathing again. Later, in the NICU Hannah leaves with Lynne, taking her back to her room.
Mitch catches Hannah in the elevator at the end of the episode. He asks her how Lynne was and she says that she's resting. Hannah reflects the question back to him, asking how Sully was. Mitch says that he's over the moon. Mitch tells her that she was great today, that she's got fans for life. Mitch tells Hannah about his past. Mitch tells Hannah that he likes her saying that if he hasn't completely scared her off. Hannah stops him and kisses him, saying that she isn't concerned with who he was before, that she likes who he is. As Mitch goes in for another kiss, the elevator doors open. They chuckle before getting interrupted by Nancy. Mitch exits the elevator and looks back at Hannah, who has a big smile on her face.
I Think I Know You, But Do I Really?[]
At the beginning of the episode, she and Mitch are enjoying tea in her apartment when they share a kiss before getting interrupted by Mitch's phone ringing. He tells her that it's Med before answering it. After hanging up, he says that he has to go in because the norovirus had hit the night shift. e tells her that this was to be continued before he kissed her. Then, she wakes him up in the on-call room with a cup of coffee, asking him how last night was. He says it was above average before she tells him that she'd love to hear about it, but Maggie was looking for him.
Later, Pawel is brought back in after getting beaten. On the spot, Mitch gets asked if he was the one who'd beaten him. He then leaves the hospital, as Hannah watches him leave, the credits fade to black.
Season 10[]
Hannah faces a conflict with Mitch Ripley over his handling of the Pawel Wapniarski assault case, leading to a falling out, which she later regrets. She eventually apologizes to Ripley for blowing up at him.
Hannah is deeply affected by the death of a patient named Elise Thompson, and seems determined to understand what, if anything, she could have done differently.
Hannah and Maggie Lockwood start a community outreach program for women's health with a mobile unit.
At the end of Baby Mine, Hannah finds out that she's pregnant with multiple at home pregnancy tests.
In a deleted scene of Don't You Cry, she reveals to Caitlin Lenox that she's six weeks pregnant.
