Dennis Mitchell was a patient at Gaffney Chicago Medical Center. He was portrayed by Ben Lorenz.
Biography[]
Prior to his first appearance on the show Dennis had been a patient at Med, having come in for an infection following his plastic surgery. He made a pass at Nurse Monique, resulting in her requesting to be replaced by a male nurse.
In All the Lonely People, Dennis commits a drive-by shooting at nurses April, Monique and Doris in front of the hospital. He hits April, who is not majorly harmed, before crashing into another car.
While in the ED, he refers to women as 'feminoids' and doesn't like them being in his room or treating him, refusing to be examined by Elsa Curry. He states that women have all the control and can have sex whenever they want, but only choose to have sex and love 'alpha males', when he is also deserving of love.
Dennis describes himself an 'incel' - an involuntary celibate who believes they are being wrongly denied sex by women - and is active on multiple incel message boards and groups. It was on this board that he was advised to get plastic surgery (chest, chin and calf implants) in order to appear less weak. He also describes women as the enemy with whom he wishes to 'get even', as they 'deprive [him] of [his] right to sexual pleasure'. He also posted a video where he says that he's going to slaughter women because they treat him like scum and he wants to make them pay.
Monique quickly realizes who he is, and thinks it is her fault for not having taken him up on his offer to go out for a drink.
