Chexton is the relationship between Dr. Ethan Choi and nurse April Sexton.
Overview[]
April and Ethan share their first kiss in Season 2, Episode 23 (Titled Love Hurts). They then start secretly dating in Season 3. Later in Season 3, they shared their relationship with their colleagues. They briefly broke up after a disagreement about Ethan's sister, Emily Choi, but then got back together when April said she stayed with Emily because she is Ethan's sister. They eventually started trying IVF.
Tensions were high between the two as April thought that Ethan was going a little overboard with a whole fertility calendar and such. Then, just before Ethan was deployed for six weeks, April finds out she is the reason why its been so hard for her to get pregnant. (she found out she has low ovarian reserve.) In the tension, April kisses Dr. Crockett Marcel at a party he was hosting. She tells him that it was a mistake and it shouldn't have happened, deciding to not tell Ethan.
When he gets back from deployment, April tells him about the low ovarian reserve. He says that he loves her unconditionally and they will get through this together. However, just a bit later, when April gets hospitalized for enlarged ovaries, she finally tells Ethan about the kiss with Dr. Marcel. He says nothing and simply walks out. He doesn't say anything about it, but when April confronts him about it, he gets defensive.
Later, Ethan tells her that he saw Crockett as the problem, where the problem was actually between them, and their relationship ends. However, thats not the end. In the season 8 premier (Titled How Do You Begin to Count the Loses), April and Ethan run into each other at Patrick Choi's (Ethan's dad) grave. They seem to share a moment, and that was that. They start dating again, and in Season 8, Episode 9 (Titled This Could Be the Start of Something New), they get married.
