Hi guys, Im so blind about this, so it makes harder to understand some of the situations that come up in the show. I have searched it but now I forgot and cant find any info. Please can someone write down characters' titles (as resident Dr attending Dr etc) and the hiyerarchy in Chicago Med E.R. ?
What happened to Robin Charles? She seems to have disappeared from the program or did I miss something?
Do you mean the hierarchy in medicine in general, or the specific hierarchy on this show? It’s easy enough to see who is what by typing in their names into the search bar and reading the info on their pages. In general, top-down hierarchy of physicians: chief of the department, attendings (including fellows), residents, interns (first-year residents with MDs or DOs), med students. For nurses, there’s a head nurse, charge nurse, and the rest of the nursing staff. Nurses have RN certifications and are required to earn a BSN degree within a certain number of years of practice. The nursing hierarchy is completely separate from the physician hierarchy. They work alongside one another, not for one another. There are also technicians (who draw and run labs, run scans, etc) and orderlies who are part of a hospital’s staff.
Thanks @Magewhisper . Well does it matter if it is just about the show or not ? Lol its the same thing. But thank you for your answer.
@Floryann42 probably you missed it cause you should've known what happened, so Im gonna let you find out and not give spoilers :)
PurpleZebraa, I what I meant by specific to the show is did you want to know which characters were specifically about or below others? I just decided to give a general reply instead of a specific one for the characters of the show. Tv medics shows take a lot of liberties with the profession, though there are a few that are closer to reality than others. Glad my description helped you. :)
I see :) So @Magewhisper I take it you are a really medic show fan, which ones you think are closer to reality ? I mean I watch/watched House, Grey's, E.R., Chicago Med etc and ı find Grey's and Chicago Med close to reality ?
Of the ones you listed, ER was the most realistic so far as medicine and how a hospital actually works. Chicago Med is okay, but they let a lot go that wouldn’t fly in a real hospital. For one thing, Will would have been fired and lost his license a long time ago. There’s no way a hospital would keep him on staff if he broke a DNR... I watch a lot of medical shows and my family is full of physicians, nurses, and medics. Medical shows aren’t perfect, of course, and really they don’t have to be because they’re works of fiction. Some things are just ridiculous, though. One of the most unrealistic medical dramas out there right now is The Resident. That show has absolutely zero semblance to how a hospital and physicians actually work. I’ve actually stopped watching Med, though I do watch Fire and PD. I just swung by here to see what kinds of discussions were going on.
I watch/ have watched ER, Grey’s Anatomy, House, MD, Chicago Med, Combat Hospital, Doogie Howser, MD, Scrubs, HawthoRNe, Nurse Jackie, M*A*S*H, Royal Pains, In a Heartbeat, Private Practice, The Night Shift, and the first episode of The Resident.
Hmm I see. I mean sure they arent perfect and they dont have to be as u said. So Med is not getting your attention anymore ?
I was never really that into it. I started watching after the second season started (binge watched the first season) and really only watched it for the crossover bits with Fire and Med. I absolutely loved ER, also based in Chicago, and Med just isn’t the same. It’s like a cheap knockoff version that they made just because Fire and PD did well. Justice wasn’t great either, and I’m really not surprised it only lasted a season. Very happy that Jon Seda is back with PD, though. Antonio is in my top two characters on that show.
Well Idk, I really liked all "Chicago..." shows, even Justice. But I do agree on Jon Seda being back on P.D. team, I absolutely like all the team on P.D. very much. I guess I dont have top characters on that show lol.
What do you think?
